In 2024, continuing an exhibition cycle on the theme of Jean Prouvé's furniture and architecture in Laurence and Patrick Seguin's collection exhibited in France and abroad, Galerie Patrick Seguin publishes this new 416-page catalog, in English and French, which is structured around two main parts: the collection and the exhibition.
The collection itself is divided into several chapters: the first shows furniture and architecture in the everyday world of Laurence and Patrick Seguin's apartment and their home in the South of France.
A second chapter generously illustrates the exhibitions in Japan, France and Italy.
A third chapter details each piece of furniture in the collection, the architectural elements and the reassembled disassembled houses, abundantly illustrated and documented with archival and contemporary plans, drawings and images.
In addition, an essay by Mark Wigley (Columbia University, New York) reflects on the concept and challenges of collecting through the history of art.
The final chapter offers an illustrated biography and bibliography.
